APECS is pleased to announce its 2014-2015 webinar series, highlighting a sample of topics available to graduates with degrees in the sciences. The speakers in this series represent a cross-section of the worlds of academia, government, and non-profit work. All have (or are nearing completion of) advanced degrees in the earth, physical, or biological sciences. Many have polar connections.

Each webinar will last approximately one hour and will be broadcast online using the GoToWebinar platform. The webinars will begin at different time during the day - check the times below, and use the World Clock to convert the webinar times to your timezone.

To join a webinar or register in advance, you can simply click the "Register or Join the Webinar" link below for the selected webinar. By registering in advance you will recieve detailed instructions and email reminders about the webinar.

As early career scientists, we should all be concerned about advertising ourselves. One of the best ways of doing this is to build a website showcasing your work. I will first go over some of the numerous alternatives that exist for you to easily build and host a free website. I will then go into more details on the process of building the site with the tool that I myself prefer: Weebly. I will then share some thoughts on what I think is good design for a personal/academic website.
