APECS along with the local organizing committee has planned a pub night social during the 7th International Penguin Conference (IPC) in Boston, MA (August 31 to September 3, 2010;
http://www.penguinconference.org). The IPC is the primary gathering focusing on penguin biology, ecology, health, and behavior. The 7th IPC will bring together scientists, governments, conservation groups, and the public to create a strategic global effort on behalf of these threatened species.
So let's grab a beer together! All early career scientists, our senior mentors and interested researchers are invited to join us at Clarke's at South Station on the evening of Tuesday, August 31st. We hope this evening provides an informal way for us to get to know each other, to meet senior researchers and to have some fun and explore the nightlife of Boston.
We have reserved space at the pub and food and drinks will be available to order. We will meet at 7 pm at the conference venue following the Tuesday poster session and walk together to the pub (it is right across the street).
Date: 31st August, after 7 pm
Location: Clarke's at South Station (http://clarkessouthstation.com)
Address: 720 Atlantic Ave., Boston, MassachusettsIf you would like to attend, please RSVP to
Mike Polito so that we can give the pub an estimate of the number of people attending. See you all there!
