Wow! The interest in the IPY Oslo Science Conference has been amazing. We had over 850 applications for the Oslo Stipend Programme which includes reduced registration and lodging for early career researchers.
After initial screening, 650 people meet the eligibility requirements. These applications are currently being reviewed by the Stipend Review Committee. We hope to notify the 400 talented young researchers that will receive the stipends by 15 February.
We encourage all of you who are interested in attending the conference in June to begin to look for additional travel funds to help make sure you can attend the largest polar research conference to date. |

Awards for Outstanding Presentations and Posters
You can select when you register on the website whether you are early career or not. If you check YES, this automatically indicates you as eligible for the awards as well as indicating to the conveners that you are early career. You can self-decide if you are early career for this box, so even if you are a bit outside the eligibility requirements for the stipend and travel fellowships, you can still indicate you are early career if you feel it is appropriate. Conveners have been asked to make sure there is a balance between senior and early career presenters in their sessions. Checking this box can only help you. More details on what these awards will be will be added here in time... |
