We are very pleased to let you know that all stipend recipients will be very centrally located in the heart of the center of Oslo - one of the nicest cities in Northern Europe. You will either be staying at the Anker Hostel, the Sentrum Pensjonat or the Oslo Budget Hotel. For more inforamtion on these hostels see the articles below.

We are pleased to offer accommodation to most of the IPY OSC Stipend Recipients at the Anker Hostel in Central Oslo.  We are sure you will like the atmosphere of the Anker, as well as its close proximity to many of Oslo fun establishments and to Oslo's Central Train Station. You will be staying in rooms with 8 beds, but each room has a private bath with toilet and shower. The beds have duvets and pillows, and linens and towels will be provided at no extra change.

Breakfast is included and will be served at the restaurant Allegra, 30 metres down the road. Allegra is open for breakfast 0630-1100 (0800-1100 on Sundays).

Rated as the best hostel in Oslo for several years, we are happy to provide accommodation to 120 IPY OSC Stipend Recipients at the Sentrum Pensjonat.

The Sentrum Pensjonat is located in the centre of Oslo and is great for those looking to stay close to entertainment such as: the theatre, cinemas, restaurants and other nightlife activities… and its only 300 meters from the Oslo Central Train Station so you can easily get to the conference venue in Lillestrøm. Breakfast, linens and towels are all included for you during your stay, and breakfast will be served starting from 6:30am

The hostel has their own coffee shop on the first floor with great food at reasonable prices. They have a general kitchen that anyone can use as well as a TV-room. There is also a small grocery about 50 meters from the hostel.

The Oslo Budget Hotel, centrally located in the downtown area, 200 meters from the central train station and parallel to the famous “Karl Johan’s gate” where you'll find shopping, entertainment, and resturants. The Oslo Budget Hotel is also quite close to both the Sentrum and the Anker- so you'll be close by all of the other stipend recipients. Oslo Budget Hotel offers: Quality beds, free Internet Wi-Fi connection and flat screen TVs in all rooms. Breakfast, linens and towels are all included for you during your stay. Breakfast will be served between 6:00 and 9:00am
