I have a PhD in Polar Sciences from the University of Siena, Italy, and I currently work as a postdoctoral researcher at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA, USA.

For my PhD I studied the population dynamics of the Adélie penguin population of Edmonson Point, Ross Sea, Antarctica, and I participated in the XX Italian Antarctic Expedition as a marine biologist. My current research interests include Southern Ocean marine food webs and their sensitivity to climate change.
