As you know our organization is growing fast and we are doing some great things! It's time to update our posters and brochures, start using them more, and to have new things ready for the big IPY Oslo Conference in June. So we have decided to have a contest! Winners will receive and HD Flip Camera or an iPod Nano with video.

PRIZES:

The winners will receive credit for their work, as well as their choice of a HD Flip Camera or iPod Nano with video recording capabilities.

DUE DATE:

Submissions are due by 5 March 2010.

Please send your submission as a PDF file (<10 MB) to . In the subject line, please include: [Advertising] type of material (ie., poster, postcard, brochure, presenation). In the body of the email, please include your name, contact info (email and phone number) and if you want, a brief description of the concept you are trying to convey.


JUDGING:

Submissions will be reviewed by the Executive Committee and Education and Outreach Committee Chairs for style and alignment with the organizational mission.

Finalists will be announced and their work will be put online by 15 March 2010 where you, the APECS membership, will vote on our new material! Voting will be open for 1 week, and winners will be notified by 25 March 2010.

SUBMISSIONS:

We are looking for a standardizable design that will work for poster, postcards, brochures and presentations. Submitters will be asked to work with us in the follow-up to design the full range of promotional materials.

All submissions should include the following or take into account the following considerations:

Content featuring/describing some of our major projects, such as the Virtual Poster Session, Polar Acronym list, Jobs postings etc.

If images are included, they should include both the Arctic and Antarctic and the cryosphere as a whole when possible.
To keep printing easy, make sure there is a .7 cm white border around publications for print.
