Virtual Poster Session

BBFNorden
Share posters you have presented at other conferences, carry on discussions, get feedback from senior researchers in the field and also find new collaborators.

This effort focuses on bringing the concept of the poster presentation beyond the four walls of the conference hall and creates an online database of polar research poster publications. This project allows members with similar goals and interests to exchange information and assures a platform for the exchange of Arctic, Antarctic and Cryospheric research, policy, and education activities that are Shaping the Future of Polar Research. APECS is leading an effort towards e-conferences among polar researchers where participants can present their research findings to an international audience through web-based settings using the APECS website.

You can view some of our previous online sessions as well as watch a short tutorial video on how to join a live session or what its like to be a presenter. Read more...

If you have participated in the virtual poster session, we really need your feedback to improve this project.  Please take 5 minutes to fill out a simple survey to see how what you thought of your experience.

virtual_button2Dear APECS community,

As many of you know, a project called the Virtual Poster Session (VPS) was launched at the beginning of this year. So far, it has been run solely by the members of Research Activities Committee.

Over the past few months we have had many discussions on how to get more people involved in this exciting project that offers many opportunities for our members to gain valuable skills, such as chairing a session, reviewing others work, and developing communication skills. So to open up this project for all APECS members and mentors to participate in, we have created a VPS Working Group (http://www.apecs.is/current-projects/1619-virtual-poster-session-working-group).

An updated description of the VPS activities could be found at http://www.apecs.is/virtual-poster-session. At the moment, we are seeking involvement from APECS members willing to contribute to VPS by presenting their posters during one of our live web events, serve as reviewers for already submitted posters, and organizing one of the online events.  We of course always encourage you all to submit your posters to the website after you have presented them at a conference.

If you are interested in getting invovled with the Virtual Poster Session WG, please contact Ella Darlington efdarlington@gmail.com.

We are looking forward to here from you,

the VPS Working Group and the APECS Research Activities Committee
