Workshop Goals and Objectives

This workshop will expose participants to a breadth of research, policy implications, and careers within the polar science community, provide help in initiating projects, and give the opportunity to network with cutting edge international and interdisciplinary researchers. We will include many aspects of polar research and provide information on various topics including:

Developing international partnerships and understanding cultural, economic, and political differences,
Advancing interdisciplinary collaborations by networking beyond traditional disciplinary and institutional boundaries
Improving science communication and teaching skills, and
Designing a polar research project and methods to secure funding
Learning about alternative careers in the polar research area
Discovering the benefits to getting more involved with APECS
