Toolik Field Station, University of Alaska Fairbanks

Toolik Field Station (TFS) is a research station operated and managed by the Institute of Arctic Biology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). TFS provides logistical, operational, and scientific support to visiting scientists conducting Arctic research. Located 370 miles north of Fairbanks, Alaska and about two degrees north of the arctic circle. The field station population ebbs and flows throughout the year with a minimum population of 4 in the winter and up to 150 in the summer.
Toolik Field Station (TFS) is seeking a full-time web programmer to join our team. This position will be based out of Fairbanks at UAF. This role will continue the development of the TFS website and our web-based applications through a dashboard that we call myToolik. The myToolik dashboard has become fundamental to the day to day operations of the station to both staff and researchers visiting the station. The apps are database driven so information can be shared between apps as needed. For example, a reservation is tied to a particular project and principal investigator, which in turn is tied to the billing report to generate an invoice. Station users access the system through personal accounts.
We are looking for someone who has a degree in Computer Science or a related field with demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, customer service standards and ability to work and lead in a team environment. Technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing in a professional context.

This is a term funded, full time, year-round position with full benefits. For a detailed description of the job duties or to apply, follow this link to the University of Alaska Careers page: https://careers.alaska.edu/en-us/job/516889/web-developer-toolik-field-station.
