Summary/Objective:
We seek a Research Assistant to work on a project related to the impact of climate change and permafrost thaw on carbon emissions. The selected candidate will compile and synthesize ecosystem CO2 and CH4 flux measurements and related geospatial data products for use in a publicly accessible database and model development in Arctic-Boreal regions. This position requires the ability to process and analyze both site-level and large spatiotemporal datasets using programming languages such as R, Python, and Google Earth Engine. Prior methodological knowledge of GIS and remote sensing approaches are required, and experience with the eddy covariance flux technique is preferred. The selected candidate will work within a highly collaborative team of Arctic modelers, scientists, policy experts, and communications specialists for the Permafrost Pathways project.
