2nd Symposium on Polar Microbes and Viruses (Abstract submission deadline 14 March 2022)
From Tuesday 03 May 2022
To Friday 06 May 2022
Location Tvärminne Zoological Station, Hanko, Finland

It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the second Symposium on Polar Microbes and Viruses from 3-6 May 2022 at Tvärminne Zoological Station, Hanko, Finland.

Organizers invite abstracts for the Symposium on Polar Microbes and Viruses.

This symposium will bring together molecular microbial ecologists specializing in different organism groups to share the latest results and discuss methodological problems, as well as future prospects in the field, including practical international collaborations. However, all microbe enthusiasts, including those wanting to learn about microbially mediated processes and techniques are welcome to attend.

The environmental focus of the symposium will be on cryospheric environments, including sea ice, glaciers, ice sheets, and permafrost, but research in other polar environments is also invited. The methods to be discussed will focus on ‘omics’ techniques, ranging from single cells to metagenomes, but research using additional methods is encouraged as well.

General abstract submission deadline: 14 March 2022

Virtual poster abstract submission deadline: 22 April 2022

In-person registration deadline: 10 April 2022

Virutal registration deadline: 29 April 2022

The meeting will be held according to the existing COVID-19 restrictions/recommendations.
