31st Wakefield Fisheries Symposium: Impacts of a Changing E
nvironment on the Dynamics of High-latitude Fish and Fisheries
9-11 May 2017, Anchorage, Alaska
This symposium, titled "Impacts of a Changing Environment on the Dy namics of High-latitude Fish and Fisheries" will examine the impacts of the environment, especially climate change and variability, on the dynamics of Arctic and subArctic species of commercial, subsistence, and ecological im portance. The symposium will focus on the effects of warming, loss of sea i ce, ocean acidification, and oceanographic variability on the distribution, phenology, life history, population dynamics, and interactions of these sp ecies and how a better understanding of these effects can inform the assess ment and management of fish and invertebrate populations in a changing ocea n for the benefit of affected communities.
Alaska Sea Grant will publ ish a peer-reviewed proceedings book, including full papers based on oral a nd poster presentations, soon after the symposium. The publication will be available electronically with the possibility of a small number in print.< /p>
