Early Career Researchers (ECRs) to present their Polar research in a friend
ly environment. We also invite anyone, of any academic or professional back
ground, who is curious or passionate about Polar research to attend.\nThis
conference has been organised with the support of the UK Polar Network ( (h

larnetwork.org/)\nThis two-day online conference will highlight the work of
ECRs within Polar Science from a range of disciplines and institutions. Th
is is the first UK Polar ECR conference and is tailored towards this commun
ity. The conference will focus on the high-quality science produced by ECRs
and the contemporary issues Polar ECRs are facing. The scientific talks wi
ll be divided in to five streams which will run parallel throughout the con
ference:\n- Ecosystems\n- Oceanography \n
- Geology and Glaciology\n- Atmosphere an
d Climate\n- Social Sciences\nIn addition to scientific ta
lks and posters, there will be a strong emphasis on careers & employabi
lity, as well as discussing the future of UK Polar science. This will inclu
de:\n- Employability workshops for careers both in and out
of academia.\n- A session dedicated to improving collabor
ation with Indigenous communities.\n- A panel discussing t
he future of UK polar science with specific emphasis on the impacts of Brex
it, COVID-19 and the UN Decade of Ocean Science. \nSubmissions\nThe form fo
r submitting an abstract for a talk or a poster is available on the link be
low, this will simultaneously register you for the conference. We ask that
those submitting an abstract fall within the category of ECR (Post-graduate
students, PhD students and Post-doctoral researchers). Abstracts must be &
