  event on the <strong>27th May at 16:00 BST</strong> dedicated to the newes
 t connectivity solutions supporting multidisciplinary research, logistics a
 nd travel in the polar regions.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Our spec
 ial key note speaker, Mike Prior-Jones, is an electronic engineer with a pa
 rticular interest in communications technology for the polar regions. He ha
 s been an Antarctic communications engineer for both the British Antarctic 
 Survey and for Antarctic Logistics &amp; Expeditions; studied polar radio c
 ommunications for his PhD; and currently designs wireless instruments for s
 tudying glaciers for Cardiff University in Wales, UK. He is also chair of t
 he World Meteorological Organisation’s Satellite Communications Forum, whic
 h liaises between the scientific community and the satellite communications
