DESCRIPTION:The U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) and the authors of the Fif
 th National Climate Assessment (NCA5) invite registration for an upcoming v
 irtual public engagement workshop to inform development of this federal cli
 mate report. The workshop is free and open to the public, and will take pla
 ce 12 January 2022 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. AKST.\nThe workshop will inc
 lude a plenary session that provides an overview of the assessment and an i
 ntroduction to the chapter. In breakout sessions, participants will have th
 e opportunity to discuss the chapter’s key topics and their own priorities 
 with chapter authors.\nThe information gathered in this workshop will help 
 authors decide which topics to cover in their chapter of the Fifth National
  Climate Assessment, a major U.S. Government report on how climate change a
 ffects people and places in the United States.\nGiven technical limitations
 , only the first 250 individuals to join the meeting will be able to partic
