The 4th biennial 2017 Arctic Ener
gy Summit is a multidisciplinary event expected to draw several hundred ind
ustry officials, scientists, academics, policy makers, energy professionals
, and community leaders together to collaborate and share best practices as
they relate to a comprehensive array of Arctic energy issues. The 2017 Arc
tic Energy Summit builds on the Sustainable Development Working Group's leg
acy efforts to address energy as a fundamental element of the sustainable d
evelopment of the Arctic, and occurs during Finland's Chairmanship of the A
rctic Council (2017-2019).

it will address energy in the Arctic as it relates to:

s Institute of the North, in collaboration with the Finnish Ministry of Emp
loyment and the Economy, the Arctic Energy Summit will highlight the Arctic
as a leader in renewable energy development and integration and exporter o
f world-class knowledge and expertise.
Organiz
ers invite subject matter experts to submit expressions of interest in spea
king at the Arctic Energy Summit. The organizing committee welcomes abstrac
ts for technical presentations, workshops, or moderated panel discussions.
Organizers are especially interested in presentations that discuss collabor
ations between academia, industry, and government; building on what is know
n and learning from experience; and evaluating differences and working towa
rd common approaches.
