 ify;">This discussion series aims to advance the knowledge about tipping el
 ements, irreversibility, and abrupt changes in the Earth system. It support
 s efforts to increase consistency in treatment of tipping elements in the s
 cientific community, develop a research agenda, and design joint experiment
 s and ideas for a Tipping Element Model Intercomparison Project (TipMip).</
 p><p style="text-align: justify;">This discussion series is a joint activit
 y of the <a href="https://aimesproject.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow 
 noopener noreferrer">Analysis, Integration, and Modeling of the Earth Syste
 m (AIMES)</a> global research project of Future Earth, the <a href="https:/
 /earthcommission.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">E
 arth Commission</a> Working Group 1 Earth and Human Systems Intercomparison
  Modelling Project (EHSMIP) under the Global Commons Alliance and the <a hr
 ef="https://www.wcrp-climate.org/safe-landing-climates" target="_blank" rel
 ="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Safe Landing Climates Light House Activity 
 of World Climate Research Program (WCRP).</a></p><p style="text-align: just
