LOCATION:Singapore
DESCRIPTION:WCRP SEA LEVEL 2022 CONFERENCE Singapore | 12 – 16 July 2022 The call for p
apers and registration is open for this conference ( (https://www.sealevelc

ference.org/)): submit abstracts by 15 April 2022. Early bird registration
rates available on and before 1 April. Limited financial assistance is avai
lable for ECS and scientists from the Global South and practitioners a case
-by-case basis. More information via the registration process. Advancing Sc

ence and translation on planning, risk management, adaptation action and pr
actices in small island nations and large cities The conference will be ful
ly hybrid and is planning to be carbon neutral. Linking sea-level science t
o practitioner concerns and needs is an essential step towards effective co
astal adaptation. Talks and participation from all those interested in thes
e issues is encouraged. There is one day for Paleo sea-level, GIA and the c
ryospheric contribution to sea-level. Five years after the WCRP sea level c
onference took place in New York in 2017, and one year after the last AR6 r
eport provided a comprehensive summary of the state of climate related larg
e scale sea level research, the conference will address the existing challe
nges in describing and understanding regional sea level changes. The confer
ence will focus strongly on the link from large-scale sea level information
to coastal areas and societal implications of those changes to coastal com
munities. This will include dedicated sessions devoted to practitioner inte
rests and concerns, the science/practitioner interface, and the co-producti
on between sea-level scientists and practitioners of appropriate informatio
n to support coastal adaptation.  The meeting is held in Singapore adjacent
to south, south-east and east Asia where three quarters of the global popu
lation vulnerable to sea-level rise live today. The meeting is hybrid allow
ing virtual or in-person participation. The WCRP SEA LEVEL 2022 CONFERENCE
