The School of GeoSciences at the University of Edinburgh is delighted to be hosting a joint meeting of the International Glaciological Soci ety British Branch (IGSBB) and the UK Antarctic Science Conference (UKASC) from Tuesday 30 August to Friday 2 September 2022.
The IGSBB is an informal two-day meeting at which presentations are welcome on all aspects of ice and snow research, while the UKASC welcomes contributio ns on any aspect of Antarctic Science. We strongly encourage early-career r esearchers, including postgraduate students, to attend and present their wo rk.

Book accommodation. Summer is extremely busy in Edinburgh and w e encourage early booking of accommodation. Through the conference website there are presently some reduced rates available on university accommodatio n on a first come first served basis.
Submit your abstract! via the link at the top of the conference website – de adline 1 August 2022. In doing so you will indicate a preference b etween presenting a talk or a poster – more details on this at the foot of this message.
You will also need to register in due course but unfort unately our payment system is not yet live. We will send a further circular when this is ready. For now, you can view the rates of the meetings, which are held steady at the rates of previous in-person meetings, free for onli ne attendees and presenters, and with discounted registration and conferenc e meal rates for ECRs. We have been able to subsidise these costs with supp ort from the Scottish Alliance for Geoscience, Environment and Society and the University of Edinburgh’s Global Change Research Institute.
