DESCRIPTION:The School of GeoSciences at the University of Edinburgh is delighted to be
  hosting a joint meeting of the International Glaciological Society British
  Branch (IGSBB) and the UK Antarctic Science Conference (UKASC) from Tuesda
 y 30 August to Friday 2 September 2022. \nThe IGSBB is an informal two-day 
 meeting at which presentations are welcome on all aspects of ice and snow r
 esearch, while the UKASC welcomes contributions on any aspect of Antarctic 
 Science. We strongly encourage early-career researchers, including postgrad

 ings, which are held steady at the rates of previous in-person meetings, fr
 ee for online attendees and presenters, and with discounted registration an
 d conference meal rates for ECRs. We have been able to subsidise these cost

 nFormat of the meetings and talks/posters\nThe meetings will run in hybrid 
 mode as follows:\n\n - IGS British Branch will run from Tuesday 30 August m
 id morning to Thursday 1 September noon.\n - The UK Antarctic Science Confe
 rence will run from 9am on Thursday 1 September to Friday 2 September mid-a
 fternoon.(Both meetings will overlap with presentations that combine the co
 nference interests in Antarctic glaciology on the Thursday morning.)\n\n - 
 We plan for oral-talk slots that are 12-15 minutes long. Talks may be prese
 nted in-person or online (live or pre-recorded).\n - For poster presenters,
  in-person presenters will be able to bring a standard poster for display o
 n poster boards. We plan also to provide an option for presenting online po
 sters, the format of which will depend on numbers of abstracts submitted, a
 nd may vary from simply a space for posters to be shared to a Gathertown sp
 ace for online attendees.
