 , will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, 11 May 2022 at 9:00 a.m. AKDT (1:00 p
 .m. EDT).\nSeminar Abstract:\nThe Arctic is undergoing large-scale accelera
 ting changes including the introduction and expansion of invasive species. 
 We are in a unique position to prevent new introductions and spread of exis
 ting invaders by adopting policies and actions aimed at prevention, early d
 etection, and rapid response to minimize impacts on ecosystems, communities
 , food security, and northern economies. But resource managers often face d
 ecisions without having adequate data and resources at hand. Community scie
 nce presents one way to fill knowledge gaps and inform decisions. This pres
 entation will showcase examples related to freshwater aquatic invasive spec
 ies management in Alaska aimed at understanding the long-distance pathways,
  human-induced spread, and informing agency prioritization with applied eco
 nomics. Implications for Arctic conservation policy and future research nee
