SUMMARY:Workshop on Machine Learning for polar regions
LOCATION:Palisades\, New York\, USA & online
DESCRIPTION:
It is our pleasure to invite you to
the “Machine Learning for Polar Regions Workshop”, to be held on June 17th,
2022 at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory from 9:30am-5pm. The ultimate
goal of the workshop is to educate polar scientists and machine learning e
xperts on each respective field and create a strategic roadmap to accelerat
e research through a coordinated, cross-disciplinary effort. The final outc
ome will be a report containing a review of cutting-edge applications, lite
rature on machine learning and polar regions, current mechanisms that can s
upport the success for cross-disciplinary collaboration, and funding opport
unities for both the climate and machine learning realms. </div

single aspect of the polar or machine learning disciplines (i.e. Generative
Adversarial Networks, Deep CNNs in the case of ML or sea ice, Greenland an
