DESCRIPTION:The University of Aberdeen is convening a major international conference on
  the theme:Conversations from the North: Scholars of many disciplines and i
 nhabitants of many places in dialogue with one another, with animals and pl
 ants, and with the land.\nThe conference is being held in association with 
 the 11th Rectors’ Forum of the University of the Arctic, and will take plac
 e in Aberdeen from August 27th to 29th 2017.\nThe goal of the conference is
  to celebrate the University’s emergence as a world-leading centre for inte
 rdisciplinary research on the circumpolar North.\nThe conference will be fu
 lly interdisciplinary, with themes including:\nthe Anthropocene in the Arct
 ic movements and encounters of northern peoples in the long term health, de
 mography and culture change in the North land, sovereignty and indigenous r
 ights political regimes and international relations in the circumpolar Nort
 h.\nA call for abstracts, for both oral and poster presentations, is now op
 en, with a submission deadline of February 14th 2017. Full instructions for
