 ty of travel awards for Early Career Researchers to attend The Third Arctic
 -FROST network meeting and Early Career Scholars Workshop on Arctic Sustain
 ability in the Global Context in Vienna, Austria (September 9-12, 2016).\nA
 rctic-FROST: Arctic FRontiers Of SusTainability: Resources, Societies, Envi
 ronments and Development in the Changing North is a new NSF-funded internat
 ional interdisciplinary collaborative network that teams together environme
 ntal and social scientists, local educators and community members from all 
 circumpolar countries to enable and mobilize research on sustainable Arctic
  development, specifically aimed at improving health, human development and
  well-being of Arctic communities while conserving ecosystem structures, fu
 nctions and resources under changing climate conditions\nThe theme of the A
 nnual Meeting and Early Career Scholars Workshop is on Arctic Sustainabilit
 y in the Global Context. Papers could deal with (1) sustainability and sust
 ainable development in the Arctic or Sub-Arctic of particular relevance to 
 the rest of the world, (2) comparative studies of sustainability between Ar
 ctic and other regions, (3) studies from various geographic contexts, which
  provide valuable insights into Arctic sustainability, (4) studies that ana
 lyze the role of outside actors in arctic sustainable development are welco
 me.\n\n - The main focus question of the conference is “What can Arctic sus
 tainability research learn from or teach the rest of the world?”At this fir
 st meeting the Arctic-FROST casts a wide net and welcomes papers that addre
 ss one of the following broad categories:\n\n - Sustainable environments\n 
 - Sustainable economies\n - Sustainable cultures\n - Sustainable regions/co
 mmunitiesAll participants:\n\n - Will present their work at the Annual Meet
 ing (all papers/presentations will be published online and considered for i
 nclusion in the Arctic-FROST edited volume and/or in Polar Geography)\n - W
 ill participate in discussions and round tables with leading sustainability
  science researchers\n - Will participate in the Workshop activities immedi
 ately following the Annual MeetingEligibility: an applicant shall be\n\n - 
 early career scholar (5 years since PhD) or current graduate student;\n - A
 rctic-FROST network member by registering at www.uni.edu/arctic/frost (http
 ://www.uni.edu/arctic/frost)\n - prepared make an oral presentation on the 
 subject related to sustainability and/or sustainable development in the Arc
 tic or Sub-Arctic regions at the meeting and\n - available to participate i

 ations from Indigenous scholars and Arctic residents are especially encoura
