DESCRIPTION:<p>The University of Oulu and the University of Helsinki are excited to inv
 ite you to the <strong>second UArctic Congress, September 3-7, 2018</strong
 >.</p><p>Held in Finland, the <strong>UArctic Congress 2018</strong> will b
 egin in Oulu from September 3-6, and conclude in Helsinki on September 7.</
 p><p>The UArctic Congress 2018 will bring together key UArctic meetings and
  a science conference into one single gathering, including business meeting
 s of the Council of UArctic, Rectors’ Forum, Student Forum, Thematic Networ
 ks, and UArctic Institutes Leadership Team.</p><p>The Congress is an integr
 al part of the Finland’s Arctic Council chairmanship program, and open to t
 he public. The event will highlight the themes and priorities of the Finnis
 h chairmanship, including the goals of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for 
 Sustainable Development, and the Paris Agreement under the UN Framework Con
 vention on Climate Change.</p><p>With the aim to foster contacts and enhanc
 e networking, the biennial UArctic Congress brings together institutional l
 eaders, indigenous representatives, academics, scientists and students from
  around the circumpolar north and beyond. Together with partners, policy ma
 kers, and other actors, the Congress strives to take the Arctic agenda forw
 ard by creating and strengthening collaborations that produce new findings 
 and solutions for the future of the Arctic region.</p><p><strong>The UArcti
 c Congress 2018 will feature Science and Meeting sections, including:</stro
 ng></p><ul><li>Sessions aligned with the four priorities of Finland’s chair
 manship; i.e. Environmental protection, Connectivity, Environmental coopera
 tion, and Education.</li><li>Acclaimed keynote speakers and scientific expe
 rts presenting their views and latest research.</li><li>Formal meetings for
  representatives of the Council of UArctic and UArctic Rectors’ Forum.</li>
 <li>Side-meetings and events.</li><li>A UArctic Student Forum with workshop
 s. An exciting cultural and social program.</li></ul><p>We welcome proposal
 s for session sessions which can be comprised of different forms including 
 dialogues and discussions. Any innovative or new ways of arranging sessions
  are welcomed. In general the sessions runs for 90 minutes and can have sev
 eral conveners, however we need one designated primary convener who will al
 so be the main contact person.</p><p><strong>The themes of the science sect
 ions follow are:</strong></p><ul><li>Environmental protection</li><li>Conne
 ctivity</li><li>Meteorological cooperation</li><li>Education</li></ul><p><b

 register to the system. The registration will allow you to go back to your 
 submission and also to evaluate and accept/decline abstracts in the later s
