DESCRIPTION:The University of Oulu and the University of Helsinki are excited to invite
  you to the second UArctic Congress, September 3-7, 2018.\nHeld in Finland,
  the UArctic Congress 2018 will begin in Oulu from September 3-6, and concl
 ude in Helsinki on September 7.\nThe UArctic Congress 2018 will bring toget
 her key UArctic meetings and a science conference into one single gathering
 , including business meetings of the Council of UArctic, Rectors’ Forum, St
 udent Forum, Thematic Networks, and UArctic Institutes Leadership Team.\nTh
 e Congress is an integral part of the Finland’s Arctic Council chairmanship
  program, and open to the public. The event will highlight the themes and p
 riorities of the Finnish chairmanship, including the goals of the United Na
 tions’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the Paris Agreement und
 er the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.\nWith the aim to foster c
 ontacts and enhance networking, the biennial UArctic Congress brings togeth
 er institutional leaders, indigenous representatives, academics, scientists
  and students from around the circumpolar north and beyond. Together with p
 artners, policy makers, and other actors, the Congress strives to take the 
 Arctic agenda forward by creating and strengthening collaborations that pro
 duce new findings and solutions for the future of the Arctic region.\nThe U
 Arctic Congress 2018 will feature Science and Meeting sections, including:\
 n\n - Sessions aligned with the four priorities of Finland’s chairmanship; 
 i.e. Environmental protection, Connectivity, Environmental cooperation, and
  Education.\n - Acclaimed keynote speakers and scientific experts presentin
 g their views and latest research.\n - Formal meetings for representatives 
 of the Council of UArctic and UArctic Rectors’ Forum.\n - Side-meetings and
  events.\n - A UArctic Student Forum with workshops. An exciting cultural a
 nd social program.We welcome proposals for session sessions which can be co
 mprised of different forms including dialogues and discussions. Any innovat
 ive or new ways of arranging sessions are welcomed. In general the sessions
  runs for 90 minutes and can have several conveners, however we need one de
 signated primary convener who will also be the main contact person.\nThe th
 emes of the science sections follow are:\n\n - Environmental protection\n -
  Connectivity\n - Meteorological cooperation\n - Education\nProposals are s
 ubmitted ONLY via our online submission form (https://app.oxfordabstracts.c
