Organizers announce the 2nd Regional Atmosphere Model (MAR) worksho p. The workshop will convene 13-15 September 2017 in Grenoble, France.
< p>A call for abstracts will be announced on the MAR website: http://mar.cnrs.fr /index.php?option_smdi=actualite&id=12.The workshop will con sist of one day of courses about model use and two days of communications a nd discussions about model results and development. The new MAR website wil l also be presented during the workshop.
MAR is an atmosphere model d
esigned for meteorological and climatic research and is used for a wide ran
ge of applications, from kilometer-scale process studies to continental-sca
le multi-decadal simulations. This model is known for its representation of
physical processes in polar regions and is one of the few models able to s
imulate
realistic surface mass balance, air-snow interactions, and atm
ospheric circulation over ice sheets, including katabatic winds. MAR has le
d to significant advances in the understanding of the surface mass balance
of mid-latitude and tropical glaciers and has provided climate simulations
over Europe and Africa.
