 op. The workshop will convene 13-15 September 2017 in Grenoble, France.\nA 
 call for abstracts will be announced on the MAR website: .\nThe workshop wi
 ll consist of one day of courses about model use and two days of communicat
 ions and discussions about model results and development. The new MAR websi
 te will also be presented during the workshop.\nMAR is an atmosphere model 
 designed for meteorological and climatic research and is used for a wide ra
 nge of applications, from kilometer-scale process studies to continental-sc
 ale multi-decadal simulations. This model is known for its representation o
 f physical processes in polar regions and is one of the few models able to 
 simulate\nrealistic surface mass balance, air-snow interactions, and atmosp
 heric circulation over ice sheets, including katabatic winds. MAR has led t
 o significant advances in the understanding of the surface mass balance of 
 mid-latitude and tropical glaciers and has provided climate simulations ove
