DESCRIPTION:<p>The <strong>Fifth International Summer School in Glaciology</strong> org
 anized by the University of Alaska, Fairbanks (UAF), will be held in <stron
 g>McCarthy, central Alaska, from 5 to 15 June 2018</strong>.</p><p>The cour
 se will provide a comprehensive overview of the physics of glaciers and cur
 rent research frontiers in glaciology with focus on quantitative glaciology
  and remote sensing. The course is open to 28 graduate students from around
  the world targeting primarily early stage PhD students who perform glacier
 -related research. It will be taught by faculty of UAF’s glaciology group a
 nd several invited guest instructors from outside Alaska.</p><p><strong>App
