DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>The school is hosted by Vancouver Island University, the member 
 of the Thematic Network on Northern Tourism. Limited spots available, regis
 tration is open until October 15, 2017.</strong></p><p>This experiential le
 arning opportunity will include lectures, seminars, and guest speakers, and
  will investigate issues and opportunities through themes such as tourism a
 nd climate change, northern cultures, winter tour operators and tourism ent
 repreneurship, winter tourism development, planning and strategies. Learner
 s will also participate in signature Yukon visitor experiences including do
 g sledding, aurora viewing, natural hot springs, and more. Fees include exp
 eriential activities, 6 nights’ accommodations, and much more.</p><p><stron
 g>Field School Facilitator:</strong><br />Dr. Suzanne de la Barre teaches V
 ancouver Island University’s (VIU) Recreation and Tourism program, as well 
 as the Master of Arts in Sustainable Leisure Management. Suzanne is an inte
 rnational Arctic tourism scholar with over 20 years of research and applied
