DESCRIPTION:The Department of Geography at Durham University is delighted to be hosting
  the 6th 'Palaeo-Arctic Spatial and Temporal Gateways' (PAST Gateways) Conf
 erence on April 16th - 20th, 2018. As with previous conferences, it will in
 clude oral and poster presentations over 2.5 days and a mid-conference fiel
 dtrip. We welcome contributions on the overall theme of Arctic palaeo-envir
 onmental change beyond instrumental records, and particularly on: Growth an
 d decay of Arctic Ice Sheets, Arctic sea-ice and ocean changes, Non-glaciat
 ed Arctic environments including permafrost, and Holocene Arctic palaeo-env
 ironmental change.\nThe conference icebreaker will take place in the magnif
 icent Great Hall of Durham Castle (https://www.dur.ac.uk/durham.castle/) on
  the evening of Monday 16th April. The conference dinner will take place in
  Hatfield College on the evening of April 19th. Accommodation (both en-suit
 e and shared bathroom) has been reserved in nearby Grey College. Other acco
 mmodation options are available for those who wish to make their own arrang
