 tunities/summer-school/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>6th Annual 
 Summer School on Sustainable Climate Risk Management</strong></a>, which wi
 ll take place <strong>30 July - 3 August 2018 at Penn State</strong>.<br />
  <br />The <a href="http://www.scrimhub.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener
 ">Network for Sustainable Climate Risk Management's (SCRiM)</a> annual summ
 er school is designed to foster opportunities for collaboration between sch
 olars and practitioners while providing a solid foundation in the broad, mu
 ltidisciplinary knowledge, tools, and methods of the diverse fields partici
 pating in the network.</p><p>A key focus of the workshop will be developing
  a common vocabulary to help foster enhanced cross-disciplinary communicati
 on, catalyzing the potential for future research and decision support colla
 borations. Participants will also gain hands-on experience with key methods
  and tools including:</p><ul><li>use of simple models in a transdisciplinar
 y framework</li><li>analysis of relevant datasets</li><li>values-informed r
 obust decisionmaking</li></ul><p>This program is targeted at all <strong>po
 stdocs</strong>, advanced <strong>graduate students</strong>, and <strong>e
 arly-career professionals in the decisionmaking and policy communities</str
 ong> who are working on issues related to climate risk. Potential candidate
 s representing NGOs and state or local agencies are strongly encouraged to 
 apply.</p><p>In most cases, lodging, meals, registration, and travel costs 
 will be fully covered for participants. International applicants are welcom
