  Arctic-FROST network meeting and Early Career Scholars Workshop in Juneau,
  Alaska (USA) on September 18-22, 2018.\n\nArctic-FROST: Arctic FRontiers O
 f SusTainability: Resources, Societies, Environments and Development in the
  Changing North is a new NSF-funded international interdisciplinary collabo
 rative network that teams together environmental and social scientists, loc
 al educators and community members from all circumpolar countries to enable
  and mobilize research on sustainable Arctic development, specifically aime
 d at improving health, human development and well-being of Arctic communiti
 es while conserving ecosystem structures, functions and resources under cha
 nging climate conditions.\n\nThe theme of the Annual Meeting and Early Care
 er Scholars Workshop is on Community Sustainability in the Arctic. Papers c
 ould deal with (1) Indigenous and local communities and organizations appro
 aches to sustainable development, (2) sustainable development within policy
  frameworks at regional and local levels, (3) models of collaboration betwe
 en regional, local and Indigenous governing entities for sustainable develo
 pment.\n\nThe main focus question of the conference is “What models of coll
 aboration among researchers and regional and local governments and Indigeno
 us organizations can lead to sustainable development in the Arctic?”\n\nAll
  participants:\n(1) Will present their work at the Annual Meeting (all pape
 rs/presentations will be published online and considered for inclusion in t
 he Arctic-FROST edited volume and/or in Polar Geography)\n(2) Will particip
 ate in discussions and round tables with leading sustainability science res
 earchers\n(3) Will participate in the Workshop activities immediately follo
 wing the Annual Meeting\n\nEligibility: an applicant shall be\n(1) early ca
 reer scholar (5 years since PhD) or current graduate student;\n(2) Arctic-F
 ROST network member by registering at www.uni.edu/arctic/frost\n(3) prepare
 d make an oral presentation on the subject related to sustainability and/or
  sustainable development in the Arctic or Sub-Arctic regions at the meeting
  and\n(4) available to participate in all conference and workshop activitie
 s.\nWe accept applications from eligible applicants from all countries, dis
 ciplines and institution types. Applications from Indigenous scholars and A
 rctic residents are especially encouraged.\nFunding: Arctic-FROST will cove
 r full cost of attendance including travel and accommodations normally up t
 o $3,000. Typically funds will be paid after the travel is completed; based
  on the reimbursement claim. The participants will be expected to comply wi
