DESCRIPTION:As you register to attend the POLAR 18 conference organised by SCAR in Davo
 s this June, please consider signing up to attend the SERCE ('Solid Earth R
 esponse and influence on Cryospheric Evolution') side meeting, which will t
 ake place immediately prior to the main conference.\nThe role of SERCE is t
 o facilitate research on interactions between the solid Earth and the cryos
 phere (https://www.scar.org/science/serce/serce/ (https://www.scar.org/scie
 nce/serce/serce/)). Our side meeting is open to all and will be relevant to
  anyone interested in the solid Earth (if you're attending POLAR 18 then we
  assume you are also interested in the cryosphere...).\nDuring the meeting 
 we will report on recent activities supported by SERCE (including a report 
 from the Antarctic Heat Flux that is taking place this week), outline and d
 iscuss plans for future SERCE-supported activities, update on recent resear
 ch that addresses the scientific aims of SERCE, and invite discussion of pl
 ans for the future direction of SCAR's Scientific Research Programs (of whi
 ch SERCE is currently one, others listed here: https://www.scar.org/science
