 , there will be a GCOS Science Day on Monday, 22 October 2018, at the premi
 ses of the Finnish Meteorological Institute.\n\nThe Science Day aims at inf
 orming the regional and national community on activities related to systema
 tic climate observations and their relevance to pressing environmental conc
 erns.\nIn the past years, the Science Day had convened climate scientists a
 nd observation experts from South Africa, South America and China, and faci
 litated valuable exchange of news and views.\nIn 2018, the Finnish and regi
 onal community is invited to present local actions with regard to climate o
 bservations, science and adaptation in the Arctic region. \n\nThe GCOS Scie
 nce Day will consist of 4 sessions:\n\n1-GCOS activities in global and regi
 onal context\n2-Arctic now and tomorrow\n3-Science-based information for de
 cision makers\n4-Climate change and observing initiatives\n\nMore details o
