SUMMARY:IASC-NAG Workshop on the Dynamics and Mass Budget of Arctic Glaciers & Cross-Cutting Activity on the Importance of Arctic Glaciers for the Arctic Marine Ecosystem
LOCATION:Geilo\, Norway
DESCRIPTION:Workshop on the Dynamics and Mass Budget of Arctic Glaciers & the IASC
Network on Arctic Glaciology Annual Meeting\nWe welcome contribution on all
aspects concerning the mass balance and dynamics of arctic glaciers, inclu
ding the Greenland Ice Sheet, and that utilize a broad range of methods, in
cluding field observations, remote sensing and modelling.\nWe especially en
courage submission to the integrated cross-cutting activity: “The importanc
e of Arctic glaciers for the Arctic marine ecosystem”, involving the Marine
and Cryosphere working groups of IASC. The cross-cutting activity aims at
bringing together people from glaciology, marine ecology and oceanography.
Confirmed keynote speaker: Sofia Ribeiro, The Geological Survey of Denmark
and Greenland (GEUS), “Marine ecosystem responses to climate change in Gree
nland - a view from below”.\nYou can register and submit your abstracts (ma
ximum length 300 words) by filling this online-form (copy paste the followi
ng link into your web browser: https://goo.gl/forms/nhmcMqH14RbHXYkx1).\nRe
