The next generation of polar-focused researchers will need a strong foun dation of interdisciplinary approaches to understand the rapid changes in p olar regions. The NSF-funded Next Generation Polar Research Conference (NGP R-3) is designed to train and network early career polar researchers for in terdisciplinary research careers. This week-long symposium will be held at the University of Southern California's Wrigley Marine Science Center on Ca talina Island, CA. and will provide an important opportunity to foster comm unication, team-building, and leadership skills for innovative training in interdisciplinary research. Participants from disciplines spanning the natu ral, physical and social sciences will be competitively selected to partici pate in dynamic networking opportunity with plenary talks, poster sessions, and professional development training.
