DESCRIPTION:Advanced Climate Dynamics Courses (ACDC) are yearly summer schools organize
 d by the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research (University of Bergen) in col
 laboration with the University of Washington, Woods Hole Oceanographic Inst
 itution, and the University of Texas at Austin with support from the Norweg
 ian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher 
 Education and the Research Council of Norway. Partners for this year’s summ
 er school include Harvard University, McGill University, Scripps Institutio
 n of Oceanography and IBS Centre for Climate Physics. the goals is to mix d
 iverse students and lecturers with empirical and dynamical training within 
 climate science and focus on understanding the basic principles and dynamic
 s relating to, and defining the climate of the Anthropocene. The key topics
  will be:\n- how can we tell natural and anthropogenic forcing apart?\n- im
 pact of fires and aerosols\n- rates of changes in the past and in the prese
 nt\n- coastal impacts\n- extreme events\n- demise of past civilizations\n-
