 nIn his PhD, Michael Zemp investigated glacier change in the European Alps 
 after 1850. Today, he is the Director of the World Glacier Monitoring Servi
 ce at the Department of Geography, University of Zurich. In his talk, he wi
 ll introduce glacier monitoring-methods and provide an overview on the fluc
 tuations of Alpine glaciers from the “Little Ice Age” to the end of the 21s
 t century. Michael will also put the Alpine glacier changes into the contex
 t of global glacier changes and related sea-level rise contributions.\n\n\n
