DESCRIPTION:The next IASC Workshop on the Dynamics and Mass Budget of Arctic Glaciers a
 nd Network on Arctic Glaciology annual meeting will take place at the Unive
 rsity Center Obergurgl, in Obergurgl, Austria, 28-30 January 2020.\nIn addi
 tion to sessions on glacier dynamics and mass balance, the workshop will ho
 st a cross-cutting activity by the Cryosphere and Marine Working Groups of 
 IASC on “Glacier-ocean interactions and their impact on Arctic marine ecosy
 stems”. This activity aims to provide an inter-disciplinary forum by bringi
 ng together glaciologists, marine ecologists and oceanographers interested 
 in glacier-ocean interactions.\nOrganizers also welcome contributions on al
 l aspects concerning the mass balance and dynamics of Arctic glaciers and i
 ce caps, including the Greenland Ice Sheet, and that utilize a broad range 
 of methods, including field observations, remote sensing, and modelling. Or
 ganizers especially encourage submission to our cross-cutting activity.\nCo
 ntributions in the form of oral presentations and/or posters are welcome. P
 resentation will be 15-20 minutes, including discussion. For those who brin
 g a poster, time will be reserved in the program to give a short 2-3 minute
  introduction to the poster. We plan for two and a half days of talks and p
 oster presentations, as well as open-forum discussions.\nParticipants can r
 egister and submit abstracts (maximum length 300 words) by filling the onli

 tation and if your presentation is a contribution to the cross-cutting acti
 vity.\nOrganizers have received funding from the IASC Cryosphere and Marine
  working groups to enable early career scientists to participate in the mee
 ting and cross-cutting activity, in particular. Funds will be distributed t
 hrough the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS (https://www

 )).\nEligible for the funding will be early career scientist who meet the f
 ollowing criteria:\n\n - Are within five years of finishing their PhD;\n - 
 Are affiliated with an institution in an IASC member country (Austria, Cana
 da, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Indi
 a, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South K
 orea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and U.S.);\n - Have regis
 tered and submitted an abstract for the workshop;\n - Have a research backg
 round relevant to the meeting; and\n - Have not received IASC travel suppor
 t in the last 18 months prior to January 2019.Applications for travel suppo
