The MSPforum’s over arching objective is to empower a new generation of planners, sectors, busi nesses and civil society to identify solutions and commit to cross-sectoral actions to conserve our ocean and use its resources in a sustainable way.< /p>
One of the actions of the joint MSP Roadmap adopted by UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission and the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission (DG MARE) is to e stablish an international forum for discussion and exchange, offering concr ete examples and guidelines on how to apply Maritime/Marine Spatial Plannin g: the MSPforum.
This edition will provide a space to discuss and exc
hange experiences, analyses and best practices on the management of marine
space through a sectoral approach focused on energy, aquacultu
re, transportation and tourism.
In addition to thematic
plenaries and technical workshops, a full day will be dedicated to visitin
g local stakeholders from the four sectors mentioned above, empowering
participants to identify solutions and actions to conserve our ocean and u
se its resources in a sustainable way.
