The event will have a youth profile, while th e program will include cooking, demonstration of traditional foods and dish es, modern cuisine, preparation and processing, and will include a multitud e of indigenous food cultures, traditional indigenous knowledge, traditions , stories and menus. There will also be a conference with presentations bas ed on traditional indigenous knowledge and science. The event will display the diversity of food resources and systems of Arctic indigenous peoples, i ncluding reindeer and caribou meat, moose meat, fish, birds, berries, plant s and so on. The week-long event is envisioned to culminate with a grand fe ast dinner the opening night of the food conference on Thursday March 12. T he whole event is to be a celebration of the unique food systems of Arctic indigenous peoples.

Food Inn ovation Leadership Workshop

As part of the 1st Arctic Indig enous Peoples´ Food Congress there will be a training workshop for Arctic i ndigenous youth - ´Food innovation leadership´. It is a practical oriented workshop led by Nord University Business School together with UArctic EALAT Institute, International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry and Association of World Reindeer Herders. Participation in the workshop is limited to 20 stud ents. We welcome Arctic indigenous youth that are/or wish to be food entrep reneurs and food innovators. Due to limited participation there may be a ne ed to prioritize youth. Participation in the workshop is without cost.

< p>The main organisers of the event is the Association of World Reindeer Her ders (WRH), International Centre for Reindeer Husbandry (ICR), UArctic EALÁ T Institute at ICR (UEI), the Arctic Council EALLU Project, and the RCN Rie vdan Research Project WP3.

We welcome young people from Norway, Sweden, Finlan d, Russia, North America and Greenland. Workshops are unique and practicall y oriented that focus on creative processes that identify business ideas an d the development of new business concepts related to traditional indigenou s knowledge, about food culture and resources. The course provides students with an introduction to how new business ideas are identified and develope d into viable business concepts, including traditional indigenous people's knowledge of food production and conservation as a basis for innovation and business models. We will identify and understand how to bring business ide as to markets, develop a business concept, analyze business opportunities, identify their own entrepreneurial potential, participate in creative busin ess development processes, grasp basic concepts of innovation and circular economics, and understand the basics of indigenous food systems and traditi onal indigenous people's knowledge of food. At the same time, you get to at tend professional seminars, about new methods for slaughter of reindeer, tr aditional caribou hunters' knowledge, reconciliation processes between Arct ic food knowledge, Arctic indigenous food congresses, chefs and food compet itions.
