Indian Polar Research Network (IPRN-APECS India) and Wildlife Institute of India- ENVIS centre on Wildlife and Protected Areas, Dehradun are jointl y organising a *two-day science communication workshop called the ICECAPS W orkshop 2016. *The workshop will be held at Wildlife Institute of India, De hradun on 1st and 2nd December 2016. This workshop aims to teach key commun ication skills to participants to prepare them for a career in science disc iplines. Some key topics to be covered under the workshop include basic ski lls needed to apply for MSc/PhD courses, resume building, improving present ation skills, writing effective grant applications, planning a research pro ject and learning basic analytical and reporting tools (R program, Latex).< /p>
This workshop will also include special sessions on Protected Area ma nagement in Polar Regions (Arctic, Antarctica and the Himalayas) with a vie w to generate awareness about international conventions and protocols.
< p>We are expecting a higher participation of students from organisations/un iversities in Uttarakhand esp. from Dehradun region. Interested students wh o are currently doing MSc or are in a PhD program in biological or environm ental science disciplines are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students who are currently working in any of the three above-mentioned Polar Regions.Apply for the workshop by filling this Google form
