DESCRIPTION:<p><span style="font-family: sans-serif; font-size: medium;">The European C
 ommission (Directorate General for Research and Innovation) and the Europea
 n Space Agency are working together to improve cooperation and to identify 
 the grand science challenges in Polar research that may drive joint EC-ESA 
 scientific activities in the coming years. The <strong>European Polar Scien
 ce Week</strong> is one of the first results of this increased cooperation 
 between the two organisations. It will take place on-line <strong>October 2
 6-30 2020. </strong>The first two days will mainly be focused on presenting
  and discussing EU and ESA ongoing and planned joint projects and initiativ
 es, including the kick-off of EU-PolarNet 2, the overarching European coord
 ination project, the presentation of the EU Polar Cluster and the ESA Polar
  Science Cluster new projects. This will be followed by three-days dedicate
 d to Polar science with focus on the grand science challenges and coming op
 portunities for ESA and the EU to address together over the coming years. <
