Organizers invite oral and poster p resentation abstracts for the 16th International Circumpol ar Remote Sensing Symposium (ICRSS). This symposium will convene < strong>16-20 May 2022 at the University of Alaska Fairbank s in Fairbanks, Alaska.
The the me of the 16th ICRSS is Convergence at the Poles - Addressing Urgent Research Questions and Management Needs through Remote Sensing in th e Arctic and Antarctic. This symposium will be of interest to scientis ts, scholars, and industry and government professionals involved in studyin g and quantifying Arctic and Antarctic change, renewable and non-renewable resource management, and development of new technologies and methods target ing remote sensing observations of polar environments.
The symposium will provide a platform for the exchange of cu rrent applied research and best practices, the presentation of new technolo gy and further innovation, and the advancement of international co-operatio n in the circumpolar regions of the world. The ICRSS deals specifically wit h remote sensing applications in the polar environments, both Arctic and An tarctic.
At this time, organizers are st ill anticipating that the symposium will take place in person with a virtua l option for those not able to attend. Given this, much of the meeting will be organized for in-person attendees. Organizers will also include some vi rtual content for remote participation, likely including both real-time and asynchronous interactive sessions.
