We are pleased to announce the release of the Open Global Glacier Model (OGGM) version 1.4. OGGM is an open source modelling framework for glaciers, targeting the simulation of large numbers of mountain glaciers.

OGGM has been around since a while now, and we won't be announcing every new release on CRYOLIST - don't worry. However, this release entails some new tools and datasets to download that might be interesting for the wider community. Furthermore, OGGM is likely to become the tool that will be used to generate important attributes for the upcoming RGI7 (topography, hypsometry, centerlines, ...), which is why we are interested in gathering feedback and bug reports from the community as early as possible.

Some key improvements of this new version are:

- further improvements to modularity and support for novel modelling workflows outside of the OGGM namespace

- improved tutorials and documentation

- implementation of an additional method to convert glacier geometries to flowlines (after HF2012)

- support for automated download of additional datasets (various DEM sources, ice velocity, etc.)

- OGGM-Hub, a JupyterHub deployment allowing registered users to run OGGM online.
