Plans are underway for the 2019 Juneau Icefield Research Program (JIRP) summer field season! JIRP is an eight-week expedition-style academic program for rising high school seniors, undergraduates, post-bacc students, and early-stage graduate students. Participants complete a ski traverse of the Juneau Icefield; design, complete, and present group research projects; and attend a series of lectures, workshops, and field trips that introduce them to glaciology, geophysics, geochemistry, climatology, ecology, and science communication. Academic Director Seth Campbell (This email address is being protected from spambots. We will also open faculty applications later this fall. In addition to Seth and Annie, Academic Council members Kiya Riverman (This email address is being protected from spambots.
