Polar Outreach Catalogue

In July 2009, UKPN members organised a ?meet the scientists? event at Newcastle Science Centre to run in parallel with the International Glaciological Society Symposia. Each day several conference delegates, from students to senior researchers, took a few hours out to share their experiences and expertise with members of the public. Children and adults wrote questions on posters (including the likes of ?what will you study when all the ice melts??) which were then displayed at the conference and delegates? answers posted on the museum website. The public designed menus which were trialled by scientists who travelled to Antarctica this year!
