The programme comprehends a set of six grants of up to 24 months that fund full-time research students at the masters level in biological sciences, cryospheric sciences and atmospheric sciences. It involves five research institutions, all of them running IPY projects funded by the FCT ? Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. The projects are focussing in the Antarctic and sub-Antarctic and deal with climate change-related topics.
