247 Henrietta Hammant Flyer Polar Week March 2021

It's International Polar Week from 14-20 March 2021

Let's celebrate the importance of the polar and the wider cryosphere! Twice a year, we celebrate Polar Week during equinox when day- and night-time are equal all around the World. During this time, we will share a series of activities through APECS international and its national committees to raise awareness of the polar and alpine areas - their indigenous people, wildlife, facts, stories, scientists, and landscapes, as well as the risks they currently face, especially due to climatic changes.

This year’s Polar Week March highlights are:

  • Photo, Poetry and Essay Competition
  • Polar Times Podcasts
  • Indigenous Art
  • Inspiring Talks
  • APECS Germany Polar-Fieldwork event

How to prepare when going to the polar regions?

How can I create fieldwork opportunities for myself?

Joined by a group of early career polar scientists you'll get insights into various fieldwork campaigns and have a casual chat about your questions and other curiosities.

Please register here beforehand, so that you can get access to the zoom session.
